Bishop Cornelius E. Anderson, Jr.

North Carolina Second Jurisdiction, Bishop

Bishop Cornelius E. Anderson, Jr., was born on December 22, 1957 to then Minister Cornelius E. Anderson, Sr., and Barbara Ann Anderson in Washington, DC. He is the oldest of three living sons and one daughter, all whom reside in North Carolina. Bishop Anderson is a graduate of East Central High School High School and immediately upon graduation, enlisted into the United States Army where he served a total of 12 active years and over 12 years in the United States Active Army Reserves. Coupled with his Federal Civilian Service completed, Bishop Anderson has a total of over 24 years of military service and 22 years of credited Civil Service to his credit. His Occupational Specialties included personnel administration, logistics, finance, transportation, and chaplain’s assistant. Bishop Anderson has attended college at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, Wilmington, North Carolina, Burlington Community College in Pembroke, New Jersey, and Durham Technical Community College, Durham, North Carolina. Currently he is working toward his master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling at Liberty University. During his ministerial career, Bishop Anderson has had the privilege of serving with Pastors throughout the United States; and the one which had a tremendous impact upon his life was the late Bishop 0. T. Jones, Jr. Always endeavoring to uphold the name of our Lord and Savior, and the name of his great leader and mentor, Bishop C. E. Anderson, Sr. Bishop Anderson Pastored his first church in Raleigh, North Carolina, Christian Fellowship Church of God in Christ, from January 1992 to December 1996. After his father was elevated to the Episcopal Office of Bishop in September 1996, Pastor Anderson was led to relocate ministry to Durham, North Carolina in January 1997, and with this new beginning came a new name for ministry; Temple Of Deliverance Church of God in Christ. January 2009, Bishop Anderson relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina where he assisted his father in ministry at Sherman Memorial Church of God in Christ and was appointed Pastor in June 2010. Bishop Anderson served as Superintendent of the Progressive District, headquartered in Durham, North Carolina, and now serves as District Superintendent of the Dominion Fellowship District, headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina.
